Lynds Bright Nebula 788

Here is another small portion of the Taurus Molecular Cloud, a vast expanse of dust and gas in the constellations Taurus, Aries and Perseus. The dust shows up in various shades of brown. The bluish areas are where the dust is reflecting starlight towards us, just as the dust reflecting sunlight in our own atmosphere makes the sky look blue. This area also includes many dark nebulae, including Barnard 7, 10, 14, 15, 19, 22, 208, 209, 210, 211, 212, 213, 215, 216, 217, 218 and 220.
